FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 26, 2008
In response to the the Daily News article regarding the involvement of Elizabeth Crothers as a volunteer with the Newell for Assembly Campaign, Paul Newell had this to say:
"We have over 100 volunteers in this campaign, and I am proud of every one of them. Elizabeth Crothers contacted me 2 months ago and offered to help, and I gladly accepted. Ms. Crothers is an extremely intelligent woman with a deep knowledge of Albany. She has been an asset to this campaign. I am proud to have her support."
"That said, this campaign remains focused on ending Sheldon Silver's culture of failure in Albany and delivering results on the affordable housing, quality schools and livable streets that Lower Manhattanites deserve. That is the message we are delivering to the streets and doors of our district today, and that is the message we will continue to deliver throughout this campaign."
